The Scuola Normale Superiore believes in the importance of creating an environment that stimulates the development of research activities and critical thinking. High-level research is closely linked to excellent education and both represent the means by which the Scuola intends to promote social, cultural and economic growth not only in the local area but also in the national and international context.

The AQ flow of research and technology transfer can be described considering  the two following interconnected levels:

1. . Continuous improvement cycle;

2 . Information flow between the actors of the AQ process.

This flow includes both the internal support structures, such as the research and technology transfer office (SRT) and the internal audit service, which are not highlighted in the flow chart, as well as the authorities and structures responsible for internal assessment such as the Quality Praesidium and the Evaluation Unit.
